Welcome to the CustomsClear Series on AI & Customs.

CustomsClear is developing Picoco, the AI-based engine behind Personal Customs & Regulations Knowledge Assistants. It is revolutionising the way we interact with customs regulations and international trade legislation.

Picoco takes your 'chatbot' to the next level by empowering it to understand your needs and provide you with tailored support to help you navigate complex legal frameworks.

The first ‘chatbot’ powered by Picoco was launched on the Lithuanian customs website on 31 December 2024. We present the project in the video.

"Happy New Year!" I started a conversation with an AI assistant on the Customs website. "Happy New Year! If you have any questions about customs rules or procedures, I will be happy to help" … it replied. On the last day of 2024, Lithuanian Customs in cooperation with CustomsClear, deployed the AI assistant solution for public use. It is now available to visitors of the Lithuanian Customs website at www.lrmuitine.lt. So far, it covers one topic relevant to the festive period: e-commerce. The number of topics will increase in the future.

The Southern Common Market (known as MERCOSUR) is a regional integration process initially established by Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay, and subsequently joined by Venezuela (currently … suspended) and Bolivia (whose accession procedure is still underway). MERCOSUR makes its decisions through three bodies: the Council of the Common Market (CMC), which is the main MERCOSUR body that conducts the integration process politically; the Common Market Group (GMC), which oversees the day-to-day functioning of the bloc; and the Mercosur Trade Commission (CCM), which is responsible for the administration of common commercial policy instruments.
